About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
ThePuroPack is a DPIIT-recognised, fast-scaling manufacturer of food-grade paper bowls & lids based in Bengaluru. We're looking for a hands-on Accountant to own our day-to-day finance and compliance operations as we scale.
Location: 84/1, Varthur Sarjapur Road, Kamanahalli, Bengaluru – 562125
Type: Full-time, on-site
Responsibilities
Invoicing & Documentation
Generate and maintain GST tax invoices and delivery challans across all client accounts, keeping numbering series accurate and sequential
Prepare and issue delivery challans (including inter-unit/job-work challans for outsourced processing)
Maintain client-wise billing records against locked pricing and specs
Collections & Payments
Track receivables and run systematic payment follow-ups with clients
Coordinate payment schedules with vendors and suppliers
Flag overdue accounts and escalate proactively
Stock & Inventory
Maintain stock records (raw material, work-in-process, finished goods)
Prepare monthly stock statements for bank submission
Track stock held at outsourced processing (job-work/slitting) locations separately as stock-in-process
Banking
Coordinate with our bank (SBI) on Cash Credit facility operations, including Drawing Power (DP) submissions and stock/book-debt statements
Track term loan EMI schedules and disbursal/moratorium timelines
Handle day-to-day banking transactions, reconciliations, and correspondence
Statutory Compliance
Prepare and file monthly/quarterly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) and reconcile GSTR-2B
Handle TDS deductions, payments, and quarterly returns
Prepare and file income tax returns and advance tax
Support ROC/MCA filings and annual compliance in coordination with the CA/CS
Maintain books in Tally (or equivalent) with audit-ready records
What we'd add to your list (things this role needs to also own, or it falls through the cracks):
Bank reconciliation — daily/weekly, not just at statement time
Vendor ledger & PO tracking — matching purchase invoices to challans and stock receipt
Payroll & statutory payroll compliance — PF, ESI, professional tax if applicable
Fixed asset register — especially relevant given machinery loans and ongoing capex (Nessco line, expansion)
Cost/MIS reporting — monthly P&L snapshots, COGS tracking by product line so you're not the only one watching margins
Audit support — internal document readiness for statutory audit and any future certifications (ISO/BRCGS financial documentation touchpoints)
E-way bill generation — mandatory for your shipment values/distances, often missed if not explicitly assigned
Export documentation basics — since export orders are starting, at least foundational awareness of LUT filing, export invoices, and FIRC tracking
Requirements
B.Com/M.Com or equivalent; CA-Inter/semi-qualified preferred but not mandatory
2–5 years' experience in a manufacturing/SME environment (GST, TDS, banking coordination)
Working knowledge of Tally Prime, GST portal, and MS Excel
Comfortable working directly with founders in a small, fast-moving team — this is not a back-office role, it's operationally embedded
Work arrangement
No
