Role Description The Faculty Lecturer will deliver high-quality online instruction in agriculture and related subjects in a part-time, remote capacity. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and instructional materials, teaching scheduled virtual classes, and facilitating interactive discussions. The lecturer will assess learner performance through assignments, projects, and exams, providing timely and constructive feedback. Additional tasks include maintaining accurate records of learner progress, offering academic guidance, and collaborating with colleagues to improve course content and teaching practices. The Faculty Lecturer is expected to stay current with developments in the agricultural field and integrate relevant industry trends into teaching.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in agriculture or a closely related discipline, supported by academic qualifications or substantial professional experience.
Experience teaching, tutoring, or training in an online or blended learning environment, with strong skills in lesson planning and learner engagement.
Proficiency with digital learning platforms, virtual classroom tools, and basic office productivity software for remote instruction and communication.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse learner audiences.
Proven ability to manage time effectively, work independently in a remote setting, and meet academic deadlines and course schedules.
Commitment to inclusive, learner-centered teaching practices and sensitivity to learners from varied backgrounds and experience levels.
Master’s degree or higher in Agriculture, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
Prior experience with curriculum development, assessment design, or educational content creation is an advantage.
