Position Summary
The Applied GenAI & Agent Engineer designs and delivers Snowflake-native AI agents and GenAI applications that solve real business problems for public- and commercial-sector clients. The role works hands-on across the full AI lifecycle, from discovery and use-case shaping through implementation, evaluation, and early production. It moves quickly from business problem to working solution while building reusable frameworks, patterns, and accelerators that improve how Archetype delivers AI. The role suits a pragmatic builder and systems thinker who takes ownership, keeps learning as Snowflake and the GenAI ecosystem evolve, and would rather create a reusable approach than solve the same problem twice.
Key Responsibilities
Design and build AI agents using Snowflake Cortex Agents and related Snowflake AI capabilities.
Develop agentic workflows, including tool use, function calling, multi-step orchestration, APIs, and MCP-based integrations.
Build grounded retrieval and knowledge solutions using Cortex Search, RAG, and embeddings.
Integrate Cortex Analyst, structured and unstructured data, and enterprise APIs into end-to-end agent experiences.
Develop evaluation frameworks and test suites that measure agent accuracy, grounding, tool selection, reliability, safety, latency, and cost.
Implement observability, tracing, logging, feedback loops, and monitoring for LLM and agent workflows.
Apply guardrails, access controls, human-in-the-loop patterns, and governance standards to enterprise AI solutions.
Rapidly prototype, refine, and productionize solutions based on client and stakeholder feedback.
Create reusable agent frameworks, delivery patterns, accelerators, and engineering standards for use across engagements.
Partner with Snowflake, data engineering, ML, strategy, and client teams to deliver complete AI solutions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
2–5 years of hands-on experience in Python, software or data engineering, or applied AI, including meaningful experience building GenAI applications.
Proven experience designing and building LLM-powered applications or AI agents end to end.
Experience with agent orchestration, tool and function calling, prompt design, and multi-step workflows.
Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector or semantic search, and grounded generation techniques.
Working knowledge of Snowflake Cortex AI capabilities.
Experience evaluating LLM or agent systems for quality, grounding, safety, reliability, and performance.
Familiarity with observability and tracing patterns for GenAI and agentic applications.
Experience integrating AI applications with APIs, enterprise data, and external systems.
Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into working client-facing solutions and iterate quickly.
Comfortable working directly with clients and explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Authorized to work in the United States; effective in a remote-first environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex Agents, Cortex Search, Cortex Analyst, or related Snowflake AI services.
SnowPro Specialty: Gen AI certification, or equivalent demonstrated Snowflake GenAI experience.
