Role Description The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site position based in Rajkot, responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding the company’s client base. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, building and nurturing relationships with corporate and SME clients, and presenting tailored logistics and freight forwarding solutions. The role involves preparing proposals and quotations, negotiating contracts and commercial terms, and coordinating with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery. The Business Development Manager will track market trends, analyze competitor activity, and provide input on pricing, service offerings, and strategic initiatives to support the company’s expansion. This position also requires regular client visits, follow-ups, and performance reporting to senior leadership.
Qualifications
Strong business development, sales, and account management skills, with the ability to generate leads, close deals, and grow key accounts.
Knowledge of logistics, freight forwarding (air and sea), customs clearance, and supply chain processes, preferably within the Indian and international markets.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities, including confident client-facing interaction and stakeholder management.
Analytical and strategic thinking skills for market research, opportunity assessment, and planning targeted growth initiatives.
Proficiency in CRM tools and basic office software (e.g., MS Office, spreadsheets, presentation tools) to manage pipelines and reporting.
Proven ability to work independently, prioritize multiple opportunities, and collaborate effectively with operations and finance teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
Prior experience in logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, or related B2B service industries is strongly preferred.
