Senior E-Commerce Data Scientist (Contract): Build Our Growth Decision Engine
Ovena Health sells FDA-cleared wound care and compression products to physicians and direct to consumers through our website, Amazon, Shopify, and TikTok Shop.
We're hiring a top-level data scientist to build the custom system our leadership team runs the business on. Not a dashboard. A decision engine.
What you'll build
Profit engine: true margin by product and channel after every cost
Who is buying: physician-directed vs. everyday consumer, new vs. repeat
Where they're buying from: sales by state, city, and zip, with area demographics
Customer economics: acquisition cost, lifetime value, and payback by channel
Lead tracking: every lead from click to website to purchase or drop-off
Provider account health: which physician accounts are growing, slowing, or going quiet
Ad optimization: true profit by keyword and channel, including organic rank impact
Pricing: elasticity models and price tests by product
Forecasting: demand, inventory reorder timing, and cash planning
Product opportunities: what we should sell next
Daily alerts and weekly outputs: clear direction our leadership team acts on
You must have
Built analytics or predictive models for Amazon or DTC brands. E-commerce experience is required.
Real development experience is required. You write and own the code yourself, not rely solely on AI tools to build it.
Hands-on experience with the Amazon SP-API, Ads API, and Amazon Marketing Cloud
Python, SQL, BigQuery or Snowflake, GA4, and Tag Manager
The ability to explain your models in plain language
Engagement: Project-based fixed fee, delivered in phases, with an optional retainer. Remote.
