Commercial Lines Agent

Homer Insurance Center, an office of Leavitt Group Northwest, is looking for a Commercial Lines Agent for their busy office in Homer, Alaska.
This position will provide support to the customer and internal sales staff on all Commercial Lines Insurance business. Sales support will consist of developing new accounts, quoting new business coverage, maintaining existing accounts, cross-selling existing accounts, and forwarding submission packages to the appropriate carrier.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately maintain all customer information in the computer system (AMS360).
- Speaking with customers and company personnel on the phone or in person during office visits and responding to all written correspondence.
- Commercial client renewals
- Remarketing and policy change requests
- Answering coverage questions, recommending coverage, processing policy change information, taking claim information, collecting premiums, submitting the proper documents to the company, and verifying that documents received from company are correct.
- Review current underwriting information in order to qualify customers for improved programs and monitor renewal premiums for excessive increases.
- Develop existing accounts by attempting to provide additional coverage on existing policies or adding additional lines of business (cross-sell).
JOB REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES:
- Property & Casualty License not required. Candidates without licensing, must be willing to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
- Strong sales skills required
- Knowledge of the AMS 360 is a plus / training available
- Excellent communication skills; verbally and written.
