A strong senior .NET/Azure developer should be capable of learning the legacy application architecture and technologies as required.
The key expectation is that the developer:
Is willing to work on both modern and legacy applications
Does not avoid legacy code simply because it uses older technology
Can independently investigate and understand unfamiliar systems
Can troubleshoot before proposing replacement
Understands the business impact of changes to existing systems
Makes incremental and low risk improvements
Can identify opportunities to move appropriate functionality toward modern .NET and Azure services
Balances modernization objectives with system stability and business continuity
