Job Summary
At Art of Drawers, Design Sales Consultants are more than salespeople—they're trusted advisors who transform frustration into joy.
Designers meet homeowners in their homes, learn how their kitchens, bathrooms, and pantries function, identify opportunities to improve accessibility, storage, organization, and appearance, and recommend customized solutions that make everyday life easier.
Our solutions include custom pull-out drawers and storage solutions as well as cabinet refacing. This means you'll help homeowners determine whether they need to improve what's happening inside their cabinets, refresh what's happening on the outside, or combine both to create a more functional and updated space.
The role combines consultative sales, space planning, product expertise, cabinet knowledge, and relationship building into one rewarding career. The Art of Drawers design process starts with understanding the customer's needs first, then creating solutions that improve workflow, accessibility, visibility, organization, and the overall look of the space.
The key quality of a successful designer is a genuine commitment to helping people by educating them on the products, options, and possibilities available through Art of Drawers.

Responsibilities
Conduct in-home design appointments with self-generated client leads and company-generated leads
Listen to homeowners' needs and identify opportunities for pull-out drawers, storage solutions, cabinet refacing, or a combination of solutions
Create accurate designs and measurements, prepare quotes, and close sales
Educate homeowners on the benefits, options, materials, finishes, and functionality of our products
Present cabinet refacing solutions, including new cabinet doors, drawer fronts, finishes, and related upgrades
Provide an exceptional customer experience from initial engagement through successful project sign-off
Collaborate effectively with installers and operations
Upload leads, orders, estimates, and client designs/photos promptly
Earn positive customer reviews and referrals
Commit to continuous improvement by attending and participating in ongoing designer training and seeking out feedback
Qualifications
Easily build rapport and communicate with prospects and clients
Quickly learn and accurately present Art of Drawers' products, including custom pull-out drawers, storage solutions, and cabinet refacing
Employ basic math, design, measuring, and documentation skills
Strong organizational and oral/written professional communication skills
Enjoy working independently
Friendly, confident, consultative, and driven nature
HUGE Plus
Previous in-home sales, design, remodeling, cabinet refacing, luxury sales, or space-planning experience
Experience selling kitchens, cabinetry, home improvement, remodeling, closets, flooring, countertops, windows, or other residential products
Referral Network to hit the ground running with self-generated leads
What You Get
Pay Upgrade: $40-$100+ / hour
Up to 19% commission per job, with commissions paid at the time of sale. Designers may also access bonus opportunities and referral fees.
Monthly Bonuses: Based upon performance
Flexible Schedule: Work the days you want (e.g., Tuesdays–Thursdays)
Full Time or Part Time: Your call. Most designers start part time around another job and scale up as their pipeline fills.
Mostly Field Work: Approximately 90% client homes, 10% home office — no standing behind a counter all day

You don't need to be an expert in pull-out drawers or cabinet refacing on day one. We provide the training and tools to help you succeed.
Ride-alongs and field training with experienced designers
Online modules, videos, manuals, and face-to-face check-ins covering Art of Drawers' products, including pull-out storage and cabinet refacing
Training on measuring, design, quoting, presentation, and closing
Interactive AI sales appointment simulations, live practice appointments, and real-time appointment feedback
3-day sales training in Atlanta/Kansas City
Ongoing sales coaching and product training
Lead generation and referral training
Continued education on new products, materials, finishes, and design solutions

Compensation: $40.00 - $100+ per hour
