About Upstak
Upstak is scaling rapidly to support the explosive growth of AI, GPU clusters, and hyperscale/Neo-cloud data center expansion. We’re looking for a Solutions Engineer who can partner with our existing client base to support cloud and hyperscale operators. Upstak is a Culture-focused Value Added Reseller with multi-year contracts to supply bulk and pre-terminated fiber cables for GW sized campus’ and growing Neo-cloud customers. Our global customers require support in pre-sales, post-sales, warranty, and training.
This role blends broad fiber expertise in high-strand count ribbon bulk and pre-terminated fiber cables and fiber connectivity, with customer‑facing problem solving. Knowledge of GPU fiber infrastructure is preferred.
What You'll Do
Pre-sales Technical Support: Attend customer meetings to answer technical questions and support solution development. Advise on fiber types, core counts, connector options, and trunk breakout configurations. Coordinate with internal teams and manufacturing to ensure accurate ordering.
Solution Design Support: Support hyperscale and GPU network designs involving fiber, connectors, splicing, and connectivity. Review customer designs and recommend optimized trunk breakout and cabinet deployment strategies.
Post technical support: Test fiber trunks in MMC, MPO, and LC configurations. Provide installation best practices for HPC fiber cabling. Troubleshoot testing, installation, and connectivity issues through remote and on-site support.
Customer Relationships: Build long-term relationships with hyperscale operators by serving as a trusted technical resource for connectivity and infrastructure needs
Travel periodically (10–25%) to hyperscale data centers, vendor facilities, and installation sites to conduct site walks, validate designs, support deployments, and strengthen customer relationships. Travel volume may increase during large‑scale buildouts but remains planned and communicated well in advance. Travel may include International locations.
Technical Training: Deliver virtual and on-site training on data center connectivity, fiber routing, and GPU cluster interconnects.
Customer Implementation Support: Coordinate deployment resources, installation guidance, and supporting materials from manufacturing partners to help ensure successful customer implementations.
What You Bring
Experience in data center infrastructure, fiber connectivity, or technical sales engineering, preferably supporting hyperscale, cloud, or AI environments.
Strong understanding of fiber optic technologies, including bulk cable, pre-terminated trunks, connectivity, testing, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with hyperscale network architectures, GPU clusters, and high-density interconnect requirements.
Ability to review customer designs and translate technical requirements into practical solutions.
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proven ability to build trusted customer relationships and manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
A mindset centered on ownership, proactive problem-solving, and delivering the right outcome for customers.
Comfortable delivering technical presentations, trainings, and customer-facing discussions.
Willingness to travel (10-25%), including occasional international travel.
