Technology Portfolio Programmer Analyst (JavaScript Developer – SAP LeanIX)
The Technology Portfolio Programmer Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom solutions within SAP LeanIX to improve visibility, automation, and reporting across the technology portfolio. This role combines enterprise architecture platform knowledge with hands-on software development, with a strong emphasis on JavaScript-based customization, GraphQL-driven data access, and React/TypeScript development for custom reports. The ideal candidate can translate business and architecture requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions that enhance data quality, streamline workflows, and support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and implement calculated fields in SAP LeanIX using JavaScript to derive meaningful portfolio insights from architecture data.
· Build and maintain LeanIX automations using JavaScript to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and support governance processes.
· Develop custom reports using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and GraphQL to deliver actionable visualizations and insights for stakeholders.
· Create, test, and optimize GraphQL queries to retrieve and transform LeanIX workspace data efficiently for reporting and automation use cases.
· Collaborate with enterprise architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to understand reporting and automation requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
· Ensure custom code is performant, maintainable, secure, and aligned with platform constraints and best practices.
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to calculations, automations, and custom reports in the LeanIX environment.
· Support deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of custom LeanIX extensions and reporting components.
· Document technical designs, code, and support procedures to enable maintainability and knowledge transfer.
· Continuously identify opportunities to improve data quality, portfolio transparency, and user experience within LeanIX.
Required Qualifications:
· Proficiency in JavaScript, including modern ES6+ concepts and best practices.
· Experience building custom logic and code-based solutions in SAP LeanIX or similar enterprise platforms.
· Hands-on experience with GraphQL for querying, filtering, and transforming data.
· Experience developing front-end components or applications using React.
· Working knowledge of TypeScript for scalable, maintainable application development.
· Experience creating analytical, operational, or portfolio-focused reports and dashboards.
· Strong problem-solving, debugging, and testing skills.
· Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver usable solutions.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical solutions clearly.
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with the SAP LeanIX Reporting Library and Custom Report Tools, which support React/TypeScript-based report development and workspace upload workflows.
· Understanding of enterprise architecture concepts, application portfolios, technology standards, and lifecycle management.
· Familiarity with API integration patterns, JSON data structures, and web-based application development.
· Experience with version control systems such as Git and modern development workflows.
· Knowledge of test-driven development, code review practices, and release management.
· Experience working in agile delivery environments and managing work through backlogs, user stories, and iterative delivery.
· Ability to optimize data queries and front-end performance for responsive reporting experiences.
· Familiarity with platform limitations and coding best practices for LeanIX calculations, including self-contained JavaScript logic and technical field references.
