About Tradex
Tradex is an importer and wholesale distributor of disposable gloves and other disposable apparel and packaging, including face masks, caps, shoe covers, and similar products. We source from factories in Southeast Asia, pay freight, duties, and tariffs, and sell to distributors and other wholesale customers in the U.S.
The role
We are hiring a Controller to own the books, cash, and inventory accounting. This is a hands-on role with a team that will help you execute. You will close the month, run NetSuite, review incoming and outgoing funds, and give leadership numbers they can use to make decisions.
Responsibilities
Accounting operations
- Run day-to-day accounting and the month-end close.
- Prepare internal and external financial statements.
- Consolidate results so reporting is accurate.
- Oversee AR, including collections on past-due balances.
- Oversee AP and review incoming and outgoing funds.
- Maintain internal controls over cash, vendor records, and wire/ACH payments, including dual control on outbound payments.
Inventory and imports
- Own inventory and cost accounting, including inventory in transit and 3PL/warehouse inventory reconciliation.
- Calculate landed cost (product, ocean freight, duties/tariffs, brokerage, and inbound logistics) so COGS and margins are right.
- Work with customs brokers and operations on duty, tariff, and import cash impact.
Cash, forecasting, and planning
- Own a rolling 13-week cash forecast tied to factory payments, freight and duties, inventory on the water and in the warehouse, customer terms, and collections.
- Run the budget process with management, including P&L forecasts.
- Flag cash issues early.
Reporting
- Give management timely, accurate financials.
- Track the metrics that show whether the business is healthy, including working capital, inventory, and margin.
Audit, tax, and compliance
- Coordinate the external audit.
- Oversee tax planning, tax filings, and other regulatory reporting.
- Keep accurate books across related entities.
Systems and process
- Own Oracle NetSuite for accounting, inventory, AR/AP, and reporting.
- Improve the close, controls, and workflows rather than working around the system in Excel.
Team
- Lead the accounting function, including hiring, training, and developing staff as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Hands-on controller, assistant controller, or senior accounting manager experience in wholesale distribution, import, or a similar inventory business.
- Oracle NetSuite ERP experience, including close, inventory, AR/AP, and financial reporting.
- Experience building and maintaining cash-flow forecasts, ideally a 13-week working-capital forecast.
- Strong inventory and cost accounting.
Preferred
- CPA license.
- Import experience, including landed cost, duties/tariffs, and inventory in transit.
- Wholesale product distribution (customer terms, rebates, inventory turns).
- Manufacturing experience is a plus. This role is built around import and wholesale distribution.

Compensation
$80,000 to $105,000+ per year depending on experience
