Role Description The Mental Health Therapist is part or full time, remote role based in Roanoke, VA. Office space is available to those who wish to see clients in person. The therapist will conduct individual and group therapy sessions, complete psychosocial assessments, and develop treatment plans aligned with client needs and clinical best practices. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring client progress, maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation, collaborating with other providers, and participating in case reviews or team meetings. The role also involves coordinating community resources when appropriate, providing crisis intervention, and educating clients and families on mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available support services.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Mental Health and Family Therapy, with the ability to provide therapeutic services to diverse populations.
Proficiency in Treatment Planning, including assessment, goal setting, and outcome evaluation.
Current licensure or eligibility (e.g., LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LPC, or equivalent) in the state of Virginia.
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with attention to ethical and regulatory standards.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and maintain professional boundaries.
Experience with evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care) and familiarity with electronic health record systems is preferred.
