Role Description
The Leadership & Advisory Volunteer role is a remote volunteer position focused on providing strategic guidance and leadership support to Unity Bands Inc. Volunteers in this role may help shape organizational priorities, offer input on programs and initiatives, and contribute to planning efforts that advance the mission and vision. Typical activities can include participating in virtual advisory meetings, reviewing and providing feedback on proposals or outreach strategies, and collaborating with other volunteers and stakeholders on special projects. The role may also involve mentoring emerging leaders within the organization, recommending partnerships or funding opportunities, and supporting efforts to strengthen governance, accountability, and impact.
Qualifications
Ability to provide strategic, mission-aligned guidance on organizational planning, governance, and program development.
Experience in leadership, nonprofit management, board service, or community organizing, preferably in public health or social impact settings.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to engage respectfully with diverse communities and stakeholders.
Comfort working remotely, using digital collaboration tools, and participating in virtual meetings.
Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and the values of Hope, Fight, and Unity.
Background in public health, healthcare, social services, or related fields is beneficial but not required.
Capacity to contribute time consistently on a volunteer basis and maintain confidentiality where needed.
