Position Description:
The Technical Project Manager (TPM) plays a critical role in advancing vaccine programs targeting high‑impact infectious diseases. This position combines structured project management with strong analytical and scientific capabilities to support data‑driven decision‑making across R&D, preclinical, clinical, and CMC functions. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of science, operations, and strategy—translating complex technical information into actionable plans that keep programs moving efficiently and compliantly. The position will be remote-based, but seeking candidates in Maryland.
Key Responsibilities:
Project & Program Leadership
Develop, maintain, and optimize integrated project plans, timelines, and risk registers across vaccine development stages.
Coordinate cross‑functional teams (R&D, clinical, regulatory, CMC, quality) to ensure alignment on priorities, deliverables, and dependencies.
Lead project meetings, prepare agendas, document decisions, and drive follow‑through on action items.
Technical & Analytical Support
Analyze scientific, operational, and clinical data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that inform program strategy.
Build and maintain dashboards, models, and decision‑support tools that improve visibility into program performance.
Translate technical findings into clear summaries for leadership, external partners, and regulatory stakeholders.
Support scenario planning, resource modeling, and timeline optimization using quantitative methods.
Operational Excellence
Improve project management processes, templates, and workflows to enhance efficiency and consistency across programs.
Partner with CMC, regulatory, and clinical operations teams to ensure documentation meets quality and compliance standards.
Vendor Management: Support day‑to‑day coordination with CROs, CMOs, testing labs, and other external partners; track deliverables, monitor performance, resolve issues, and ensure vendors meet technical, quality, and timeline expectations.
Support contract initiation, SOW development, and vendor onboarding in collaboration with other PM colleagues and Business Operations.
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, biotechnology, or related field.
3–7 years of experience in biotech, pharma, or life sciences project/program management.
Demonstrated analytical skills—experience with data interpretation, modeling, or dashboard creation.
Strong communication skills with the ability to synthesize technical information for diverse audiences.
Proficiency with project management and analytical tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Tableau, Power BI, Python/R preferred but not required).
Preferred
Experience in vaccine development, infectious disease research, or biologics manufacturing.
Familiarity with GxP, regulatory pathways, and clinical trial operations.
PMP, CAPM, or similar certification.
Experience supporting government‑funded programs (BARDA, NIH, CEPI) is a plus.
