Chief Data Architect

Speedinvest focuses on providing pre-seed and seed investments to technology startups while also supporting companies in later stages of growth through its dedicated growth fund.
Role Description The Chief Data Architect at Speedinvest is a full-time remote role responsible for defining and leading the organization’s overall data architecture vision and execution. This role oversees the design and implementation of enterprise data models, data platforms, and integration frameworks that support analytics, reporting, and product needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions; defining standards for data governance, data quality, and metadata management; and guiding the adoption of best practices for data security and compliance. The Chief Data Architect will review and optimize data pipelines, data warehousing solutions, and ETL processes, mentor data and engineering teams, and evaluate new technologies to continually improve the data ecosystem.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in Data Architecture and Data Modeling, with a track record of designing scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions.
Experience in Data Governance, including data quality, lineage, stewardship, and compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) tools and frameworks, as well as building and maintaining robust data integration pipelines.
Proficiency in Data Warehousing concepts and platforms, including schema design, performance tuning, and support for analytics and business intelligence.
Experience with cloud data platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP), including modern data lake and lakehouse architectures.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and make data-driven architectural decisions.
Background in designing data solutions for product-driven or analytics-focused organizations; experience in fitness, health, or consumer technology is a plus.
