Psychology Intern — Sleep & Hypnosis Research (2-month contract)

What you'll do
We're running a small experimental study testing whether voice-guided hypnotic induction improves sleep quality, measured against participants' own wearable data (HRV, resting heart rate, sleep stages). You'll own the study end-to-end: build and maintain the participant list, keep 8–12 people engaged and logging consistently over 6 weeks, pull and clean device data weekly, and write up what we actually found — including if the answer is "not much."
What the two months look like
Weeks 1–2: Finalize tracking parameters, pilot the daily check-in with a few participants, set up the data sheet
Weeks 3–6: Run baseline and induction phases, chase compliance, catch bad data early
Weeks 7–8: Compile before/after comparisons and write a short insights report
Strong fit if you:
Hold a post-graduate degree in psychology (or a closely related field)
Can hold a warm, persistent relationship with participants over weeks without being annoying — compliance decay is the single biggest risk in a study like this
Are comfortable reading raw-ish data (HRV, sleep stages) and won't paper over messy or inconclusive results to make the write-up look tidier than it is
Can work independently with light supervision — this isn't a role with daily hand-holding
Not a fit if you:
Want a structured, task-list internship where someone tells you exactly what to do each day
Are looking for a stats-heavy research role — this is small-N and behavioral, not a modeling exercise
Aren't comfortable reaching out to strangers repeatedly and diplomatically to keep them logging
