Role Description
As the DevOps Engineer, you will own the platform's infrastructure-as-code, deployment pipelines, and production operations tooling. You will be responsible for ensuring that every change reaching
production does so through an automated, gated, evidenced path, and that the AWS environments in
which the En3 platform runs are provisioned, hardened, monitored, and recoverable. This is an intense handson platform-facing individual-contributor role.
Your Responsibilities
• Own and evolve the AWS Cloud Development Kit artifacts, ensuring constructs are reusable, secure, and consistent.
• Maintain sharable base infrastructure configuration for storage, networks, APIs, functions, and content delivery.
• Manage the dependencies, keeping runtime, test, and tooling dependency sets reproducible and installable without the need for re-resolution.
• Maintain multi-region deployment primitives and extend regional coverage as new deployments are
onboarded.
• Manage one or more private SaaS production deployments.
• Own Bitbucket pipelines for backend and user interface repositories and maintain overall CI/CD.
• Own release mechanics including versioning, tagging, release process, and rollback process.
• Provision and maintain multiple AWS accounts for production, staging, development, etc.
• Maintain network-isolated backup infrastructure and own backup and recovery processes.
• Own production observability and alerting.
• Monitor and manage cloud spend across multiple accounts.
Required Qualifications
• At least 4 years of experience in a DevOps, platform, or site reliability engineering role, with demonstrated ownership of production cloud assets.
• Strong experience with AWS, including serverless architectures: Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, DynamoDB, S3, Event Bridge, and SQS. Experience with Azure cloud.
• Experience with IAM policy design and least-privilege role definition.
• Demonstrated experience with infrastructure as code using AWS Cloud Development Kit in Python.
Equivalent Terraform or CloudFormation experience with ability to work in CDK may be considered.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Python and comfortable with shell scripting.
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines in a hosted platform such as Bitbucket Pipelines, or GitHub Actions.
• Working knowledge of multi-account AWS setup patterns with considerations for configuration compliance, security findings aggregation, vulnerability scanning, and audit logging.
• Strong CloudWatch knowledge – metric filters, dashboards, Logs Insights. Familiarity with observability best practices, metrics, structured logging, alarms, and alert routing.
• Understanding of compliance-driven engineering in a regulated environment.
• Experience in a regulated sector such as healthcare or financial services is plus.
• Experience with managed Elastic Search and AWS OpenSearch is a plus.
