Role Description The Tax Accountant is a full-time, remote role responsible for managing tax-related activities and supporting overall accounting functions. Day-to-day tasks include preparing federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring tax compliance and timely filings, and assisting with tax planning initiatives. The Tax Accountant will analyze financial statements, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate documentation to support tax positions and audits. The role also involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to provide guidance on tax implications of business decisions, monitoring changes in tax regulations, and contributing to process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency in Tax, Tax Compliance, and Tax Preparation, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant tax laws and regulations.
Strong Accounting and Financial Statements skills, including experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to identify risks and recommend solutions.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and explaining complex tax concepts clearly.
Proficiency with accounting and tax software, as well as standard office productivity tools.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or other relevant certification is a plus.
Prior experience in corporate or public accounting environments, especially in tax-focused roles, is highly beneficial.
