Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Java backend developer with strong backend expertise in Java 21+, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, SQL, and microservices.
The role involves developing and maintaining complex eMobility applications, integrating services via REST APIs, and contributing to AWS infrastructure and DevOps activities. You will also participate in 3rd Level Support and on-call duty rotation, working closely with the customer and the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java 21+, Spring Boot.
Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
Support and troubleshoot applications and infrastructure running on AWS.
Write efficient unit tests and ensure high standards of code quality.
Participate in 3rd Level Support and on-call rotation (1 week every 5–6 weeks).
Actively contribute to Scrum ceremonies, story refinement, and estimations.
Technical Requirements
Must-have:
Minimum 5 years of professional Java development experience.
Strong expertise in Java 21+, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, and SQL.
Experience developing REST services and complex integrations.
Experience designing and developing microservices following Clean Code principles.
Minimum 1 year of hands-on AWS experience (e.g. VPC, Route 53, ELB, ECS, Fargate, IAM, Aurora, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, KMS, NLB/ALB, Lambda, SQS, SNS, ApiGateway).
Strong experience with Git and unit testing.
Ability to quickly understand and contribute to large, existing codebases.
Experience using AI development tools, such as Kiro or Claude Code.
Should-have:
Hands-on experience with Angular 16+ and Angular Material UI.
Familiarity with Kafka, Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.
Experience integrating with Identity Providers, Certificate Authorities, or Payment Providers.
Knowledge of the eMobility domain (OCPP, OCPI, OICP, MSP, CPO, Hubject).
Methodology
Must:
Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with active team collaboration.
Willingness to participate in 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis (1 week every 5–6 weeks).
Comfortable taking ownership of development, delivery, and production support activities.
Should:
Experience in DevOps-oriented environments (“You Build It, You Run It”).
Soft Skills
Pragmatic and solution-oriented, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality software.
Strong ownership and responsibility for assigned User Stories.
Able to proactively clarify and challenge requirements during story refinement.
Willing to travel 1–4 times per year for customer meetings, team events, and workshops.
Education
AWS Developer Associate / AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or willingness to obtain it within 6 months of joining.
University Degree in Computer Science or related field
