Role Description Master Data Specialist is a six-month contract, remote role based in India, responsible for maintaining and optimizing master data across key business systems. This position involves creating, updating, and validating master data records to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with corporate standards. Daily tasks include monitoring data quality, conducting root-cause analyses for data issues, and collaborating with business and IT stakeholders to resolve discrepancies. The Master Data Specialist will define and follow data governance guidelines, support data migration and integration projects, and assist in documenting processes and data definitions. The role also requires regular communication with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide timely support for operational and reporting needs.
Scope of Assignment
Approximately 2 full-time resources
Duration: 4–6 months
Desired start: within 30 days
Remote/offshore delivery preferred
Ability to provide overlapping working hours with both Europe and North America
Required Skills and Experience
Hands-on experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations preferred)
Strong experience in:
Item Master setup and maintenance
Master Data Management (MDM)
Data governance and data quality processes
ERP data validation and cleansing
Experience comparing, validating, and reconciling data between multiple business systems
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
Ability to work independently following onboarding and training
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
Assignment Objectives
The selected resources will support our internal Master Data team by:
Reducing an existing backlog of master data requests
Creating, updating, and maintaining item master data in Dynamics 365
Performing data validation, cleansing, and quality improvement activities
Supporting reconciliation and consistency checks between Dynamics 365 and related systems
Following established processes and work instructions
Supporting standardization of templates, workflows, and data management practices
Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through tooling, automation, and process improvements
