Role Description The Junior Accountant role at STCO India is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru South. This role involves day-to-day responsibilities such as recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, assisting in the preparation of financial statements, and supporting tax and GST compliance activities. The Junior Accountant will help with reconciliations, basic audit support, preparation of working papers, and documentation for client engagements. The position also includes coordinating with senior team members, responding to client queries, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks. The role provides exposure to a wide range of accounting and compliance work, with opportunities to learn from experienced professionals and grow within the firm.
Qualifications
Solid foundation in accounting principles, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and preparation of basic financial statements.
Knowledge of taxation and compliance, preferably with exposure to income tax, GST, and related regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel, with the ability to work with spreadsheets, reconciliations, and financial data.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a team-based, professional environment.
Relevant academic background such as a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; pursuing or completed professional qualifications (e.g., CA inter) is an advantage.
High level of integrity, reliability, and willingness to learn, with openness to feedback and continuous improvement.
Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru South and manage deadlines in a fast-paced client service environment.
