Software Development Lead

Key Responsibilities
1. Platform Ownership and In House Migration
• Take over the full codebase, environments, deployments and documentation for the Quote Engine, BAP and Comparator from the current external development setup.
• Migrate to Polisync owned repositories and cloud accounts with no disruption to live users.
• Set up development, staging and production environments with clear release and rollback steps.
• Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams and release notes for every version.
2. End to End Quote Engine: Sales, Quotation and Underwriting
• Lead the design and build of the end to end Health Quote Engine for individual and SME policies, so sales, underwriters and operations work on one record with no rekeying.
• Build multi insurer quoting, with plan and product configuration and rate tables by plan, age band, gender and region.
• Maintain the premium calculation logic, covering ancillary benefits, item adjustments, maternity loading and loadings for administration, TPA and broker commission, with automated tests so every figure is accurate.
• Develop the medical declaration and underwriting flow, including shareable declaration links, SLA tracking, member review, premium loading, and approve or reject decisions with reason codes.
• Support quote sharing, PDF export, policy binding and the role based dashboards used by brokers, underwriters and administrators.
3. End to End Quote Engine: Onboarding, Clearance and Policy Issuance (Phase 2)
• Build the workflow that follows an accepted quote: pre placement, document clearance, KYC and AML checks, onboarding and policy issuance through to activation.
• Deliver AI document intake with OCR, census validation with GDRFA and ICP checks at upload, MOL reconciliation, payment terms and invoicing logic, including VAT and installment tracking.
• Build real time API integrations with insurers and the NAS TPA for policy creation, eCard issuance and document sync, with secure authentication, retry handling and error logging.
• Automate mid term endorsements and make it easy to migrate or add insurer products without rebuilding the platform.
• Build the workflow state machine, automated welcome emails, escalation rules and audit trail needed for compliance.
4. BAP and Comparator Development
• Design and build features across BAP and the Comparator, including quote extraction, the benefits comparison matrix, network coverage analysis, client summaries and PDF and Excel exports.
• Develop and improve the Onboarding Manager and Endorsement Manager modules within BAP.
• Turn feedback from brokers and the operations team into a clear, prioritised roadmap.
• Work with the UI and UX developer to deliver simple, consistent and on brand interfaces.
5. AI and LLM Engineering
• Own the extraction pipeline that converts insurer PDFs and network files into structured, accurate data.
• Maintain the provider layer that allows switching between Anthropic Claude and OpenAI models.
• Improve prompts, document pre processing and validation to raise accuracy and reduce cost per comparison.
• Develop Poly, including grounding answers in the source quote documents.
• Track LLM usage and cost per user and per comparison, and keep AI sub processors documented.
6. Architecture, Infrastructure and DevOps
• Own system architecture, database design and API standards.
• Manage AWS and Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including servers, storage, email delivery, monitoring, backups and cost control.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and automated testing, and plan for scale as usage grows.
7. Security and Compliance
• Maintain role based access control across Super Admin, Admin, Brokerage Manager and Broker roles.
• Keep audit logging, data retention and privacy controls aligned with UAE PDPL and insurance record keeping requirements.
• Run regular security reviews, dependency updates and production audits, and close findings promptly.
8. Team Leadership and Delivery
• Recruit, mentor and manage developers as the team grows, with regular code reviews and clear standards.
• Plan sprints, track delivery and report progress to the Founder and CEO.
• Work closely with the operations team on platform testing, bug reports and broker support issues.
• Manage any external vendors or contractors and ensure knowledge transfer is complete.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 or more years of full stack development experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead role. • Proven experience building and running production web applications on AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Hands on experience integrating LLM APIs into a live product is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of health insurance workflows (quoting, underwriting, policy issuance, endorsements, TPA integrations) and UAE requirements such as GDRFA, ICP and MOL is a strong advantage, but not a requirement.
• Based in Dubai or willing to relocate. Fluent English, spoken and written.
