Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our client’s growing finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for contacting customers with overdue accounts, negotiating payment arrangements, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service to ensure timely collections. This role requires strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments and assume responsibility for resolving any issue to acquire payment.
Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable transactions.
Research and resolve complaints from customers with prompt replies.
Identify if accounting errors occurred, such as payment misapplication, and work to resolve.
Analyze aging reports to track outstanding receivables.
Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service teams to address account issues.
Qualifications:
2 - 5 years’ experience in a similar Accounts Receivable or Specialist role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Familiarity with GAAP accounting principles is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills with a professional and empathetic approach to customer interactions.
Experience using ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, etc.) for account management and documentation.
Advanced Excel and reporting skills are a plus.
Preferred Credentials (Not Mandatory):
CA Sri Lanka, CMA Sri Lanka, or equivalent professional accounting qualifications.
Degree or diploma from a recognized UK or Western university.
Prior experience working with U.S.-based clients or organizations is advantageous.
You must have legal working rights in Sri Lanka, and be living in Sri Lanka, to apply for this role.
