Role Description The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programmer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for turning, milling, and related machining operations in support of precision aerospace components. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications, selecting appropriate tooling and workholding, generating CNC code, and validating programs through simulations and trial runs. The role involves collaborating with machinists and engineers to resolve manufacturing challenges, improve cycle times, and ensure consistent quality across complex geometries and advanced materials. The CNC Programmer will also document processes, maintain program libraries, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for machining efficiency and reliability. This is a contract, remote role, requiring effective communication and collaboration with on-site production and engineering teams.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in CNC Programming and Programming for multi-axis milling and turning operations.
Hands-on experience with Machining and Milling processes, including setup, tooling selection, and process optimization.
Ability to read and interpret Technical Drawing and engineering documentation for precision aerospace components.
Familiarity with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX, CATIA, or similar) and CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, etc.).
Experience working with high-temperature alloys and complex geometries in aerospace or similar high-spec industries.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and on-time delivery.
Effective remote collaboration skills, including clear written and verbal communication with cross-functional teams.
Relevant technical education or apprenticeship in manufacturing, machining, mechanical engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience also considered.
