Backend Software Engineer (NodeJS)
Contract length - 12 months
Start date - ASAP
Location - mostly remote in England. Berkshire office day 1 to collect equipment
The client is a fast growing SaaS business. As a NodeJS Backend Developer you will focus on outcomes rather than just activity. You will own the delivery of backend features end-to-end by writing clean, well-tested code that meets a high standard of quality and performance in production.
Backend Software Engineer (NodeJS) - Responsibilities
Deliver backend features end-to-end (design to delivery, production-ready code) in a fast-moving agile team
Write scalable, high-performance server-side code in NodeJS, TypeScript, NextJS, AWS, Microservices, and Messaging Queues
Build and contribute to microservices; take ownership of outcomes rather than wait to be directed
Write unit and integration tests that ensure code quality, reliability, and stability across releases
Backend Software Engineer (NodeJS) - Requirements
Experience in server-side development i.e. NodeJs, TypeScript in SaaS
Experience with NestJS
Experience with messaging queues i.e. RabbitMQ
Proven experience developing microservice technology
Experience with AWS
Experience in a fast-paced or high growth environment
Experience with GIT, Docker, VS Code
Experience with unit and integration testing using Jest
Understanding of CI/CD principles.
Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
Strong problem solver
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
