Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced AWS Application Architect to support a large-scale Data Center Exit and Cloud Migration Program. The role focuses on assessing legacy applications, defining AWS migration strategies, designing target architectures, identifying application/database/IAM/network dependencies, and supporting cloud transformation initiatives.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in AWS architecture, application assessment, migration planning, application modernization, cloud security, networking, and Infrastructure as Code.
Key Responsibilities
Assess existing applications and determine cloud migration feasibility and approach.
Define AWS migration and modernization strategies based on application architecture, dependencies, risks, and business requirements.
Design scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-efficient AWS target architectures.
Analyze application, database, IAM, networking, infrastructure, and integration dependencies.
Support migration planning, solutioning, implementation, testing, production readiness, and cutover activities.
Work with application owners, solution architects, migration architects, infrastructure teams, and platform teams.
Identify required application changes, infrastructure requirements, technical skills, resources, risks, assumptions, and blockers.
Provide technical direction for legacy application migration and modernization.
Evaluate IAM integrations and dependencies involving platforms such as Entra ID, ForgeRock, SailPoint, CyberArk, HashiCorp Vault, or equivalent technologies.
Support database migration and modernization considerations, including SQL Server and Oracle environments.
Apply AWS best practices for security, networking, monitoring, disaster recovery, governance, reliability, and cost optimization.
Troubleshoot and resolve architecture and migration-related technical issues.
Required Skills
8+ years of IT experience with strong Application/Cloud Architecture experience.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud.
Experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, ECS/EKS, and CloudFormation.
Strong experience in application assessment, migration planning, and cloud transformation.
Experience migrating and modernizing legacy applications to AWS.
Strong understanding of application dependencies, databases, networking, IAM, security, and infrastructure.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
Knowledge of cloud security, disaster recovery, governance, monitoring, and high availability.
Strong stakeholder management and technical communication skills.
Preferred Skills
AWS Solutions Architect or equivalent certification.
Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with enterprise IAM platforms such as Entra ID, ForgeRock, SailPoint, CyberArk, or HashiCorp Vault.
Experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle databases.
Agile/Scrum experience.
Experience with large-scale enterprise data-center exit or cloud migration programs.
Ideal Candidate
Candidates with strong experience in application architecture, application assessment, migration strategy, AWS cloud transformation, dependency analysis, and legacy application modernization are highly preferred.
