Role Description The AI Data Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines to support AI and analytics initiatives, including ingesting data from multiple sources and ensuring data quality and reliability. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and optimizing Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, working on data modeling and data warehousing solutions, and collaborating with data scientists and analysts to deliver well-structured datasets. The AI Data Engineer will monitor data workflows, troubleshoot performance issues, and contribute to best practices for scalable data infrastructure. The role also requires documenting technical solutions and actively participating in team discussions on architecture and improvements.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Data Engineering and building scalable data pipelines.
Candidates should possess skills in Data Modeling and designing structures that support analytics and AI use cases.
Candidates should possess experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and Data Warehousing solutions.
Candidates should possess capabilities in Data Analytics to interpret data outputs and support business insights.
Practical experience with SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (such as Python or Scala).
Familiarity with cloud data platforms and tools (for example, AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar ecosystems) is beneficial.
Understanding of AI and machine learning workflows, and how data engineering supports model development and deployment.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and follow secure and ethical data practices.
