SAP DRC Consultant

Role: SAP Functional Consultant, Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC) and E-Invoicing

Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced SAP functional consultant to design, configure, and deploy SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC) for UAE e-invoicing on SAP ECC or S/4HANA landscapes. You will work with business, tax, IT, and integration teams to make our SAP systems compliant with the UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) and Ministry of Finance e-invoicing framework, including connectivity to an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) over the Peppol-based model.
Key Responsibilities
Lead requirement gathering and fit-gap analysis for UAE e-invoicing (B2B, B2G, credit notes, and related document types) across SD, MM, and FI.
Design and configure SAP DRC, including the eDocument framework, eDocument Cockpit, and process configuration for outbound and inbound documents.
Set up UAE-specific compliance requirements: TRN handling, VAT and tax code mapping, mandatory data fields, and the PINT AE / UBL 2.1 data model.
Configure and test integration with the ASP or e-invoicing network via SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration) or the chosen middleware, including message mapping, status handling, and error management.
Support VAT and statutory reporting in DRC (Advanced Compliance Reporting), such as UAE VAT return and audit file requirements, where in scope.
Define the approach for the ECC vs S/4HANA landscape, including the SAP notes, add-ons, and version prerequisites for DRC.
Prepare functional specifications for enhancements (custom fields, output determination, BAdIs) and work with ABAP and integration developers.
Plan and run unit, integration, and user acceptance testing, including negative and rejection scenarios (invalid TRN, schema errors, ASP/FTA rejections).
Handle cutover, go-live support, hypercare, and knowledge transfer, and create user guides and training material.
Track UAE regulatory updates and advise on their impact and required changes to configuration.
Coordinate with tax, finance, and IT stakeholders, and with the ASP, to resolve issues.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on SAP functional experience in FI/CO, SD, or MM on ECC and/or S/4HANA.
Proven implementation experience with SAP DRC or eDocument-based e-invoicing (any country), preferably in the GCC, Saudi Arabia (ZATCA), or a Peppol-based market.
Strong understanding of UAE VAT law, tax invoice requirements, and the UAE e-invoicing model (five-corner Peppol-based framework, ASP role, FTA/MoF reporting).
Working knowledge of e-invoicing standards and formats: XML, UBL 2.1, PINT, and Peppol concepts.
Solid understanding of SAP tax configuration, output management, billing, and the order-to-cash and procure-to-pay flows.
Experience with SAP Integration Suite / CPI or comparable middleware, at least at a functional level.
Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills in English.
