Role Overview
Paras Steel Industries is looking for a dynamic and hands-on Head – IT, Digital Transformation & Systems to lead the technology function at our manufacturing organisation in Bhiwadi.
This is not a conventional IT support role.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of our existing IT infrastructure while also helping us build the digital systems, automation and technology architecture required for the next stage of the organisation.
The person will lead an existing team of approximately 2–3 IT professionals and will have the flexibility to restructure or build the team further based on organisational requirements.
Key Responsibilities1. IT Infrastructure & Hardware Management
Take overall responsibility for the IT infrastructure of the manufacturing facility, including:
Computer systems and workstations
Servers and storage systems
LAN/WAN infrastructure
Network switches, routers and Wi-Fi systems
Network cabling and communication lines
CCTV cameras and surveillance infrastructure
Printers, biometric systems and other IT hardware
Internet connectivity and network reliability
Hardware maintenance and technology upgrades
The IT Head will supervise the team member responsible for day-to-day hardware and infrastructure while ensuring that preventive maintenance, documentation and system reliability standards are properly maintained.
2. Network, Cybersecurity & Data Protection
Develop and maintain a secure and reliable IT environment across the organisation.
Responsibilities will include:
Network security
Firewall and access management
User access controls
Data backup and recovery systems
Endpoint security
Cybersecurity policies
Protection against data loss and unauthorised access
Monitoring of critical IT systems
Disaster recovery and business continuity planning
The candidate should help establish strong data governance and information security systems suitable for a growing manufacturing organisation.
3. ERP Management & Development
Supervise the team member responsible for ERP operations and act as the management-level owner of the ERP ecosystem.
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring ERP uptime and reliability
Coordinating with ERP vendors and developers
Identifying gaps in ERP usage
Improving ERP adoption across departments
Developing reports and dashboards
Integrating ERP with other digital systems
Helping management obtain accurate, real-time information from the ERP
The IT Head should work closely with departments such as Production, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, Accounts, HR and Dispatch to improve system utilisation.
4. Digitisation of Organisational Records
Lead the transition from manual and paper-based processes towards structured digital systems.
This will include:
Digitisation of historical and current records
Digital document management systems
Department-wise digital filing structures
Controlled document access
Searchable records and databases
Digital approval workflows
Version control and record retention systems
Backup and security of critical company information
The objective will be to progressively create a paper-light, digitally controlled organisation where information can be accessed securely and efficiently.
5. Digital Transformation & Process Automation
Work directly with management and department heads to identify processes that can be digitised, automated or redesigned.
The candidate will be expected to:
Study existing business processes
Identify repetitive and manual activities
Build digital workflows
Reduce dependence on Excel, paper registers and manual follow-ups
Create management dashboards
Automate approvals and reporting
Improve data visibility between departments
Integrate different systems wherever possible
The IT Head should be capable of converting operational requirements into practical digital solutions.
6. AI & Emerging Technology Adoption
We are specifically looking for someone who is curious about and actively uses AI and emerging technologies.
The candidate should continuously explore opportunities to use AI for:
Process automation
Data analysis
Report generation
Document processing
Internal knowledge management
Workflow automation
Management dashboards
Productivity improvement
Operational decision support
The person should be comfortable experimenting with new technologies and introducing relevant solutions within the organisation.
7. Development of Internal Tools & Applications
The candidate does not necessarily need to be a full-time software developer, but should have sufficient technical capability to build or supervise the development of small internal applications, utilities, dashboards and automation tools.
They should be comfortable using:
AI-assisted development tools
Low-code/no-code platforms
APIs and system integrations
Database-driven applications
Workflow automation tools
Business intelligence platforms
The focus should be on quickly developing practical solutions to business problems rather than waiting for large external software projects for every requirement.
8. Technology Strategy, Budgeting & Vendor Management
Develop and maintain the organisation's overall IT and digital transformation roadmap.
This will include:
Technology budgeting
Hardware replacement planning
Software licensing
Vendor management
Cybersecurity roadmap
ERP development roadmap
Digital transformation projects
AI adoption strategy
Infrastructure scalability
The candidate should ensure that technology investments are practical, secure and aligned with business requirements.
9. Team Leadership & IT Governance
Lead, mentor and develop the internal IT team.
Responsibilities will include:
Allocation of responsibilities
Setting priorities and timelines
Monitoring performance
Creating SOPs and documentation
Training team members
Ensuring proper escalation systems
Developing internal technical capability
The candidate will have the authority to recommend changes to the structure of the IT department and build the team further where justified.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who is:
Technically strong and hands-on
Experienced in IT infrastructure and networking
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
Knowledgeable about ERP systems
Strong in cybersecurity and data management
Highly technology-oriented and continuously learning
Comfortable with AI tools and AI-assisted development
Capable of understanding business processes, not just IT systems
Able to communicate effectively with management and department heads
Capable of managing vendors and external technology partners
Able to lead and develop a small IT team
Proactive in identifying problems and implementing solutions
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
Approximately 7–12+ years of relevant IT experience, including experience managing a team or IT function
Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial organisation is strongly preferred
Experience with ERP systems, networking, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity and digital transformation projects
Exposure to automation, AI tools, low-code platforms, APIs, databases or internal application development will be highly valued
