Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid role for an Application Specialist – Clinical Flow Cytometry, based in the Delhi and Kolkata. The role involves providing application support for clinical flow cytometry instruments and related diagnostic solutions, including installation assistance, user training, and post-implementation guidance to laboratory and clinical staff. The Application Specialist will conduct routine and advanced troubleshooting, coordinate with technical support teams to resolve complex issues, and help optimize workflows and assay performance. Daily responsibilities include conducting product demonstrations, supporting evaluations, documenting customer interactions and case resolutions, and contributing to continuous improvement of application materials and protocols. The role also requires close collaboration with sales, service, and medical affairs teams to ensure high customer satisfaction and effective use of Sysmex solutions in clinical settings. The role also require extensive travels to support users.
Qualifications
Educational Qualification: Minimum M.Sc./M.Tech./Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Immunology, or a related discipline.
Flow Cytometry Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with flow cytometry instrumentation, applications, and laboratory workflows.
Clinical Assay Expertise: Strong knowledge and practical experience in the design, validation, standardization, and implementation of clinical flow cytometry assays, including:
Hematological malignancies
Minimal/Measurable Residual Disease (MRD)
Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH)
Flow Cytometric Crossmatch (FCXM)
Stem cell enumeration
Primary Immunodeficiency (PID)
Other relevant clinical flow cytometry applications
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to interpret clinical data, evaluate assay performance, understand laboratory workflows and guidelines like CLSI, ASHI, WHO, NABL/CAP accreditation etc.
Troubleshooting Skills: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot application-related issues, perform root-cause analysis, identify corrective actions, and coordinate effectively with technical/service teams to resolve customer challenges.
Communication & Training: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with laboratory professionals, pathologists, clinicians, internal stakeholders, and customers. Ability to deliver effective product/application training, presentations, and technical documentation.
Technical Support: Hands-on capability in providing technical and application support for clinical flow cytometers, sample preparation systems, and associated software. Experience with laboratory diagnostics instrumentation will be an advantage.
Industry Experience: Experience in clinical laboratories, diagnostic companies, IVD organizations, or healthcare technology companies will be preferred.
Customer Engagement: Ability to understand customer requirements, provide application-focused solutions, support demonstrations and evaluations, and contribute to successful implementation of clinical flow cytometry solutions.
Mobility & Work Location: Ability to work in a hybrid setup from Delhi or Kolkata, with flexibility to travel outstation at customer sites as required.
Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with Application, Sales, Service, Product Management, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive customer solutions.
