About the project
We're producing a 100-episode Tamil language Long Running Series of 100 episodes. We're looking for a writer who can build characters audiences return to every day and sustain story momentum across a long run without losing quality or consistency.
Role
You'll work with the platform, production head and management to develop and write the series, from story arcs through final episode scripts, while keeping pace with the production schedule.
Responsibilities
• Develop the overall story bible: premise, character profiles, relationships, and major arcs across 100 episodes
• Premise has already been identified, the story and characters are to be crystallised.
• Break the series into season/block-level arcs and episode-wise one-liners
• Complete the pitch related deliverables, and once greenlit, get into the full screenplay writing process.
• Craft strong episode hooks and cliffhangers to keep viewers returning
• Maintain continuity of characters, timelines and plot points throughout the series
• Once greenlit, deliver scripts on a fixed schedule as per platform requirement
• Revise scripts based on feedback from the director, producers and channel/platform
• Adapt storylines quickly in response to audience response, TRP/viewership data, or production constraints (actor availability, locations, budget)
Requirements
• Excellent command of written and spoken Tamil, with an ear for authentic dialogue across regions, generations and social backgrounds
• 3+ years of writing experience, with OTT work preferred
• Young content sensibility
• Proven ability to sustain a long-form narrative over many episodes
• Strong understanding of screenplay structure, pacing and episodic storytelling
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and produce consistent volume
• Open to feedback and comfortable collaborating in a writers' room
Good to have
• Credits on a Long Running Series for an OTT platform
• Familiarity with the audience profile and current Tamil TV/OTT trends
• Working knowledge of English for coordination with production and platform teams
• Experience with screenwriting software (Final Draft, Celtx, Fade In) or Tamil typing tools
