About the Opportunity
HummingBird is hiring an HRIS Director on behalf of its client, a leading organization in the Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, based in Hyderabad.
The HRIS Director will provide strategic leadership for the organization's Human Resources Information Systems, technology roadmap, HR data, and digital transformation initiatives. The role will work closely with HR leadership, IT, business stakeholders, and technology partners to build scalable, secure, and data-driven HR technology capabilities.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in HR technology leadership, HRIS strategy, enterprise HR platforms, system integrations, data governance, and large-scale HR transformation programs.
Key Responsibilities
HRIS Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the organization's long-term HRIS strategy aligned with business and HR objectives.
Establish an HR technology roadmap covering platforms, integrations, analytics, automation, and digital transformation.
Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, and optimization of HR technology solutions.
Partner with senior HR and business leadership to identify opportunities for technology-enabled HR transformation.
Establish HR technology governance, standards, policies, and operating models.
HR Technology & Systems Management
Provide strategic oversight of enterprise HRIS platforms and associated HR technology applications.
Manage the ongoing enhancement, configuration, and optimization of HR systems.
Ensure HR systems effectively support employee lifecycle processes including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, talent management, performance, learning, compensation, and workforce management.
Drive automation of manual HR processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
Ensure system scalability to support business growth and evolving workforce requirements.
HRIS Transformation & Implementation
Lead large-scale HRIS implementations, upgrades, migrations, and transformation programs.
Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, and vendor relationships.
Establish effective change management and adoption strategies for new HR technologies.
Ensure successful integration of HR systems with enterprise applications and business platforms.
Drive continuous improvement based on business requirements and technology developments.
Data, Analytics & Reporting
Establish strong HR data governance, quality, security, and management practices.
Develop HR reporting and analytics capabilities to support strategic workforce decisions.
Partner with HR leadership to define KPIs, dashboards, and workforce analytics requirements.
Ensure accuracy and consistency of employee data across HR platforms.
Enable advanced analytics and data-driven insights across workforce planning, retention, performance, compensation, and talent management.
Integration & Enterprise Architecture
Oversee integration of HRIS platforms with payroll, finance, identity management, ERP, recruitment, learning, benefits, and other enterprise systems.
Partner with IT architecture and security teams to ensure robust technology design.
Establish standards for APIs, data flows, interfaces, and system integrations.
Ensure HR technology architecture remains scalable, secure, and adaptable.
Cybersecurity, Privacy & Compliance
Establish appropriate controls for HR data privacy, access management, and information security.
Partner with IT security, legal, and compliance teams to protect sensitive employee information.
Ensure HRIS processes comply with applicable data protection and employment requirements.
Conduct regular system audits, risk assessments, and access reviews.
Vendor & Budget Management
Manage strategic relationships with HR technology vendors, implementation partners, and service providers.
Lead vendor evaluations, contract negotiations, SLAs, and performance reviews.
Manage HRIS budgets and ensure effective allocation of technology investments.
Evaluate emerging HR technologies and determine their potential business value.
Team Leadership
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing HRIS and HR technology team.
Establish clear objectives, performance metrics, and development plans.
Mentor HRIS leaders and technical specialists.
Promote collaboration between HR, IT, business, and external technology partners.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
18+ years of progressive experience in HRIS, HR Technology, HR Transformation, or enterprise technology leadership.
Significant experience leading enterprise HR technology strategies and large-scale transformation programs.
Strong experience with HRIS platforms, integrations, data management, and HR analytics.
Experience working with large, complex, geographically distributed organizations.
Strong understanding of HR processes and the employee lifecycle.
Demonstrated experience managing technology vendors, budgets, and implementation partners.
Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
