Senior .NET Engineer - REMOTE (with 1 day per month in the office)
Remote with 1x per month in office
(must be living in the UK with full work authorisation)
Up to £75k-£95k/year + 20% bonus
Who are they?
Industry leading B2B/B2B2C SaaS business who who are investing heavily in their engineering organisation following acquisition a couple of years ago
They are also expanding into international markets, and will be growing their product and engineering team from 150 to about 200 by mid-2027.
They're looking for engineers who can challenge product & architecture decisions and contribute towards shaping products
If you're someone who enjoys solving genuinely enterprise level, business-critical and complex technical challenges while having a genuine voice in engineering decisions, and you want to OWN "stuff", then this could great for you. They need people who are genuine solution-bringers, not just ticket-takers, so demonstrable responsibility and ownership is essential.
The Opportunity
You'll join the team responsible for the lifecycle of customer accounts, building APIs and event-driven services that power critical business processes including customer self-service, billing, invoicing, consumption data etc. The business sits at around 600 people in total, with ~150 in product / engineering.
The engineering team is in the middle of an exciting transformation, balancing:
Modernising a major monolithic platform into decoupled services
Modernising the culture of the engineering org - breaking down barriers between teams, and improving overall process performance
Moving outdated .NET architectures into newer, higher-performant services and working with distributed systems
BAU work with their biggest customers, who turnover £billions every year
Driving improvements across architecture, engineering practices and developer experience
This is an environment where engineers are encouraged to challenge ideas, influence technical direction and take ownership from design through to production.

Technology
.NET, C#
Mostly AWS (SNS/SQS, EKS with PoCs for ECS) with some Azure too (MUST have strong experience in at least 1 of these)
Event-driven architecture
REST APIs
Node.js / TypeScript (not required though for these positions)
You'll likely have:
Strong commercial experience with .NET and modern backend development
Very strong AWS or Azure experience
Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform desirable)
An understanding of distributed systems or event-driven architectures
The confidence to contribute ideas rather than simply deliver requirements

Ways of Working
Remote-first - some teams attend the office 1x per month, and some teams attend the office 1x every 2 months
Company-wide engineering & product meetups, and business events throughout the year
Interview Process
The process has been designed to be efficient while giving candidates a genuine opportunity to demonstrate their ability.
1) Intro with Talent Partner (30 mins) - discovery & tech insights
2) 90 min technical - Build an MVP, show how you'd take it into production with a focus on engineering approach, use of AI assisted development etc.
3) Final interview with 2 Employees from the People team or the Engineering Excellence team
