About the Role:
We're looking for a Firmware Engineer with strong embedded development experience to build production firmware for IoT and smart automation products, primarily on Espressif ESP32 using ESP-IDF and FreeRTOS. The role involves working closely with hardware, developing under an RTOS, and handling the complete firmware lifecycle — from boot-up to secure OTA updates.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware across the full product lifecycle
Work with wireless technologies: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, Thread
Implement RTOS-based firmware (tasks, queues, semaphores, mutexes, timers, inter-task communication)
Interface with hardware peripherals: SPI, I²C, UART, GPIO, PWM, ADC
Develop and debug network communication using TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT, DNS; use tools like Wireshark for troubleshooting
Collaborate with hardware engineers on PCB bring-up, board validation, and product testing
Write clean, modular, well-documented Embedded C/C++ code
Who Can Apply (Ideal Backgrounds):
Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related field
2+ years of hands-on embedded firmware development experience (strong practical projects also considered)
Strong hands-on experience with Embedded C/C++ and ESP32/ESP-IDF
Practical experience with FreeRTOS (or similar RTOS)
Comfortable using debuggers, programmers, serial terminals, and logic analyzers
Strong independent troubleshooting ability across firmware, RTOS, hardware, and networking issues
Familiarity with Git/version control
Preferred industry experience includes:
Nordic Semiconductor / Silicon Labs wireless platforms
Thread / Matter
STM32 or Infineon PSoC 4 (ARM-based MCUs)
Secure boot, firmware encryption, and secure OTA
Low-power/battery-operated IoT devices
Industrial/building automation protocols (DMX, DALI, KNX)
Prior experience developing firmware for commercial/production IoT products
