Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Registered Pharmacist at Amta Rural Hospital, located in Amta. The Registered Pharmacist will dispense medications according to prescriptions, verify dosages, and ensure compliance with legal and hospital standards. Daily responsibilities include reviewing medication orders, checking for drug interactions, counseling patients and caregivers on safe medication use, and maintaining accurate pharmacy records. The role also involves managing inventory, monitoring storage conditions, and coordinating with physicians and nurses to support effective treatment plans. The pharmacist will participate in medication safety initiatives, contribute to clinical audits, and provide guidance on formulary and procurement decisions.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and drug interactions, with the ability to interpret prescriptions accurately.
Candidates should possess skills in patient counseling, communication with healthcare teams, and providing clear medication instructions to diverse patient populations.
Candidates should possess competencies in medication dispensing procedures, inventory management, and adherence to pharmacy regulations and hospital policies.
Candidates should possess attention to detail, record-keeping skills, and familiarity with basic pharmacy information systems or electronic medical records.
Registered Pharmacist license in accordance with applicable state or national regulations, with registration in good standing.
Bachelor’s or Diploma in Pharmacy (or higher relevant qualification) from a recognized institution.
Ability to work in a rural hospital environment, including flexibility with shifts, teamwork in high-volume settings, and commitment to patient safety.
Prior experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting is preferred; familiarity with rural or resource-limited healthcare contexts is an advantage.
