JOB DESCRIPTION
Quality Assistant
Full-time | On-site | Sugar Land, TX | $18/hour
The Quality Assistant supports the Quality Department by managing the Non-Conforming Product Program and assisting with quality and food safety compliance through audits, documentation, and recordkeeping.
What You'll Do:
Collect, document, and photograph all non-conforming product placed on hold
Review non-conforming product with the Quality Manager and conduct additional investigation as needed
Physically identify, disposition, and relocate material from the NC Area per approved procedures
Electronically disposition material in the ERP system releasing/blocking product, adjusting quantities, and updating inventory records
Create and distribute quality investigation packets to the appropriate Department Manager
Conduct monthly food safety and site security audits per established checklists
File and maintain cleaning records for each production department
Maintain organized, accurate quality records and documentation
Communicate quality or food safety concerns to the Quality Manager or relevant personnel
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma or GED (required)
Additional coursework or certification in Quality, Food Science, or Manufacturing (preferred)
Experience
0–3 years in quality, food safety, manufacturing, or a similar environment (preferred, not required)

Technical Skills
Intermediate to advanced computer and typing skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
Familiarity with ERP systems and web-based software
Ability to use basic measuring tools (rulers, pi tape)
Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
Critical thinking and sound decision-making
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks accurately
Effective cross-departmental communication
Ability to follow established procedures under time pressure
Bonus Qualifications
Basic knowledge of QC/QA procedures
Bilingual in Vietnamese and/or Spanish
Physical
Lift/carry up to 25 lbs
Comfortable bending, reaching, pushing, pulling
~50% standing/walking on the floor, ~50% desk/computer work
Able to work around moving industrial equipment with required PPE
