Role -
The MD’s Office is the nerve centre of the organisation — where strategy, finance, and operations converge. We are looking for a sharp, driven professional to work directly out of this office, supporting the leadership team on business analysis, project planning, and high-priority cross-functional initiatives. This is a high-visibility role for someone who wants to understand how a manufacturing business runs end-to-end and be in the room where decisions are made.
Key Responsibilities
• Drive project planning and execution for strategic and capex initiatives — build project plans, define milestones and timelines, monitor progress against plan, flag slippages, and drive closure across functions.
• Maintain central visibility and tracking of all key MD-office initiatives — owners, dependencies, and deadlines — ensuring follow-through and accountability.
• Prepare and refine management dashboards, MIS, and review decks for the MD and leadership reviews — turning plant, commercial, and financial data into clear insight.
• Leverage IT systems and AI tools to automate reporting, build dashboards, and improve efficiency — identifying opportunities to digitise manual processes and apply AI/automation across the MD’s office and functions.
• Conduct business and financial analysis — costing, profitability, working capital, market and competitor scans — to support decision-making.
• Coordinate monthly/quarterly business reviews: collate inputs from HODs, structure agendas, and follow through on action points.
• Build business cases and structured recommendations for new proposals, vendor/contract decisions, and product-mix or pricing calls.
• Support board and investor-facing material preparation.
• Act as a reliable bridge between the MD’s office and functional heads, ensuring accountability on agreed actions.
Candidate Profile
• Graduate/Postgraduate from a reputed institute — CA, MBA (tier-1 B-school), or B.Tech + MBA preferred.
• 2–5 years in management consulting, corporate strategy, FP&A, chief-of-staff/MD’s-office roles, project management, or business analysis (manufacturing/industrial exposure a plus).
• Strong project planning skills — comfortable with project plans, Gantt charts, and tracking tools; able to manage multiple workstreams to deadline.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills; advanced Excel and confident with PowerPoint; comfort with ERP/SAP data is an advantage.
• Tech- and AI-forward — hands-on with modern AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT/Claude) and digital/IT systems, with a keen interest in applying AI and automation to business workflows.
• Excellent structured communication — can distil complexity into a one-page recommendation.
• High ownership, discretion with confidential information, and the maturity to interact with senior leadership.
• Willing to be hands-on, travel to plant when needed, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Gain
Direct mentorship from leadership, a 360° view of a growing manufacturing business, and a fast track into senior commercial/strategy roles.
