About SambalPay
SambalPay is an early-stage fintech startup helping consumers understand their financial profile, eligibility and needs before choosing financial products.
We are looking for a Co-founder & CEO who can take ownership of the business side and help build SambalPay from an early stage into a scalable fintech company.
Job Description
Lead business strategy and overall execution
Own fundraising and investor relationships
Build GTM and revenue strategy
Develop partnerships with banks, NBFCs, DSAs and fintechs
Build and lead the core team
Work closely with product and technology teams
Drive customer validation, growth and business opportunities
Take ownership of key company decisions
Experience Required
5–12+ years of relevant experience preferred
Background in startups, fintech, lending, banking, consulting, VC, product or business development
Experience in fundraising, GTM, partnerships or business strategy
Strong understanding of early-stage company building
Experience hiring and leading teams
Fintech/lending exposure is highly preferred
Previous founder or early-stage startup experience is a strong advantage
Strong preference for IIT/IIM graduates or candidates from similar leading institutions

Strong understanding of fintech, lending and digital financial products
Ability to work closely with product and technology teams
Understanding of APIs, integrations and digital product journeys at a business level
Financial modelling, projections and business planning
Market research, competitor analysis and KPI tracking
Strategic thinking and structured problem solving
Hiring and team-management ability
Strong Excel/Google Sheets and presentation skills
Ability to work in uncertainty and move quickly
High accountability and long-term commitment
Knowledge of AI, credit, underwriting, lending infrastructure or financial data will be an added advantage.
Founder Commitment
This is a full-time co-founder role with no fixed salary initially.
Compensation will primarily be through founder equity, mutually agreed based on experience, responsibility and long-term contribution.
The selected co-founder should be comfortable investing ₹35 lakh as founder capital into SambalPay through proper legal documentation. This is not a joining fee.
We are looking for someone who wants to build SambalPay as an owner, not an employee.
