NEXUS Mental Performance is building a new standard for mental performance in elite sport.
We currently work within high-performance environments and are looking for a Scientific Advisor in Neuroscience & Human Performance to join our extended leadership team and help strengthen the scientific foundation behind the next stage of NEXUS.
The role
You will help us:
Review and strengthen our existing mental performance methodology through a scientific lens
Connect practical mental performance work with current research in neuroscience, cognition and human performance
Advise on evidence-based frameworks, protocols and measurement
Help identify areas where NEXUS can develop research, validation or academic collaborations
Contribute to selected scientific content, reports and thought leadership
Support the credibility and long-term scientific positioning of the NEXUS brand
Participate in periodic strategic discussions with the leadership team
We are particularly interested in people with backgrounds in:
Neuroscience
Cognitive neuroscience
Human performance
Sports science
Performance psychology
Neurophysiology
Cognitive performance
Behavioural science
A PhD or strong research background is highly valued, although we are equally interested in individuals with exceptional applied experience in elite performance environments.
What we are looking for
Someone who can bridge science and real-world performance.
You should be comfortable challenging ideas, translating research into practical applications and helping us build a methodology that is credible, measurable and relevant to elite athletes.
Experience within sport, high performance, research institutions or performance-focused organisations is a strong advantage.
Structure
This is an equity-based advisory position.
Equity and involvement will be discussed individually based on experience, contribution and long-term alignment.
The role is remote and designed to be compatible with an existing academic, research or professional career.
