About the Team
The UGC team owns the voice of noon's customers: ratings, reviews, photos, and Q&A across our marketplace in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. Our systems shape millions of purchase decisions every day.
What you’ll do:
Design, build, and operate high-throughput backend services for review collection, moderation, aggregation, and serving.
Build event-driven pipelines that react to orders, deliveries, and customer actions to drive review submission at the right moment.
Work with data science to integrate ML-based moderation, quality scoring, and ranking into production systems.
Build read paths that serve review and rating data at low latency on product listing and detail pages.
Own reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency of your services, with solid logging, metrics, and tracing in place.
Take features from problem definition through design, launch, and iteration, working directly with product and design.
Move fast, experiment often, and take ownership of measurable results.
What you’ll need:
2+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
Strong proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Go, or Java.
Understanding of microservices architecture.
Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
Strong problem-solving skills and a high degree of ownership.
Clear communication and the ability to work well with product, data, and other engineering teams.
BTech/BE from a Tier 1 college (IITs, NITs, BITS, or similar) is preferred.
