Job Description – Senior Coordinator (Grades 9–12)

ROLE OVERVIEW
A CBSE school coordinator acts as the vital bridge between school administration, teachers, students, and parents. They are primarily responsible for ensuring seamless implementation of the CBSE curriculum, overseeing internal and board examinations, tracking student academic performance, and mentoring faculty to maintain high educational standards
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Curriculum & Academic Planning
Syllabus Execution: Ensure timely completion of the CBSE syllabus while aligning with the board's CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation) guidelines.
Lesson Planning: Review and approve annual plans, unit plans, and daily lesson plans submitted by subject teachers.
Resource Management: Identify requirements for textbooks, lab equipment, and teaching aids, ensuring alignment with CBSE norms.
Examination & Assessment Management
Internal Assessments: Organize periodic tests, mid-terms, practical exams, and pre-board examinations.
Board Documentation: Oversee the error-free upload of internal assessment marks (like ASL and project work) on the CBSE portal.
Result Analysis: Track student performance, identify learning gaps, and strategize remedial interventions for struggling students.
Faculty Mentorship & Development
Teacher Supervision: Monitor the pedagogical practices of teachers to ensure engaging and effective classroom delivery.
Professional Development: Conduct or arrange training workshops for faculty regarding CBSE update, new evaluation methods, and soft skills.
Classroom Observations: Regularly sit in on classes to provide constructive feedback and support to teaching staff.
Parent & Stakeholder Coordination
PTM Leadership: Play a leading role in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to address concerns and discuss student progress.
Conflict Resolution: Serve as the primary point of escalation for complex queries or grievances from parents and students.
Communication: Bridge the gap between the Principal's directives and the classroom teachers.
Administration & CBSE Compliance
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the school strictly adheres to CBSE circulars, affiliation bylaws, and examination mandates.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, report cards, mark sheets, and internal assessment files.
Event Planning: Coordinate scholastic and co-scholastic school events, such as science exhibitions, sports days, and literary competitions.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in a relevant subject.
· B.Ed. (Mandatory for teaching positions in most CBSE schools).
· 8–12 years of teaching experience, preferably with experience teaching Classes XI and XII.
·Previous experience as a Head of Department, Academic Coordinator, or similar leadership role is highly desirable.
A successful Senior Secondary Coordinator acts as the academic leader for Classes XI and XII, ensuring excellent board examination outcomes while fostering holistic student development, teacher excellence, and compliance with CBSE standards.
