Freelance Knitwear Designer (luxury)

I’m looking for a talented Freelance Knitwear Designer to collaborate with me on an exciting international project focused on premium and luxury knitwear.
The initial phase will involve the creative development of approximately 20 knitwear styles, spanning elevated luxury essentials, signature pieces and more directional/showpiece designs.
I’m looking for someone with strong experience in:
• Knitwear design and creative development
• Strong hand or digital fashion illustration
• Front and back design views with clear construction details
• Knit stitches, gauges and yarn direction
• Natural fibres including cashmere, wool, silk and cotton
• Engineered knit structures, openwork, texture and dimensional techniques
• Translating a creative concept into clear visual information for factory development
A strong understanding of the European luxury market and contemporary fashion is important.
You’ll be working directly with me and an experienced knitwear manufacturer. The factory will manage the technical development and sampling, so the focus of this role is creative design, knitwear expertise and clear communication of the design intent.
This is initially a freelance/project-based collaboration, with the potential to develop into a significantly larger collection following the first phase.
Timing: Immediate / October start
Location: Remote — Europe preferred, but open internationally
