Role Description The Senior Project Manager – BFSI will lead end-to-end delivery of complex technology projects for banking, financial services, and insurance clients, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. This full-time, on-site role based in Chennai involves managing project scope, timelines, budgets, and risks, while coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners for successful implementation. The person in this role will oversee project planning, resource allocation, and status reporting, and will drive continuous improvement in delivery processes and stakeholder communication. Responsibilities include collaborating with client leadership to define requirements, tracking milestones, resolving impediments, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle. The Senior Project Manager will also mentor team members, contribute to best practices, and support pre-sales and solution design activities when required.
Qualifications
Strong project management skills, including experience in planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder communication within BFSI environments.
Experience as an expeditor, with expertise in expediting activities to ensure timely delivery of project outputs and critical dependencies.
Knowledge of inspection processes and quality assurance practices relevant to technology implementation and service delivery.
Logistics management skills to coordinate resources, schedules, and operational workflows across multiple teams and locations.
Proven experience managing large, complex IT or transformation projects, preferably in banking, financial services, or insurance.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, or a related field; advanced certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum are advantageous.
Ability to work on-site in Chennai and collaborate effectively with global stakeholders and cross-cultural teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a focus on delivery excellence and client satisfaction.
