Job Description: Finance Manager – Finance Controller
Position Title: Finance Manager
Department: Finance & Accounts
Location: Gurgaon
Reporting To: CFO – dotted line to AGM Finance
Employment Type: Full-Time
Role Overview
The Finance Manager will be responsible for closing the books of accounts for all group entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and overseeing the consolidation of group financials. The role includes maintain strong financial controls, ensure global statutory and regulatory compliance, and support audits and governance activities.
This position requires strong technical expertise in accounting, consolidation, compliance, and financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
a. Financial Accounting & Month-End Closing
· Align accounting policies of all subsidiaries/ associates/ JVs with Holding Company accounting policy.
· Review and finalize ledger entries, accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and journals.
· Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books for all group entities. Prepare subsidiary books to offer for audit
· Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of books of accounts as per applicable accounting standards. Knowledge of Ind AS 110, 28, 21, 103, 116 and other applicable standards
· Maintain and update the chart of accounts, accounting policies, and SOPs.
· Ensure timely and periodic generation of financial statements, MIS reports, and schedules
· Drive timely completion of statutory audit, tax audit, and group audit.
b. Group Consolidation
· Prepare consolidated financial statements for the entire group, including managing intercompany transaction accounting, reconciliation, Cash Flow statements, NCI, FCTR, purchase consideration, equity method for associates, goodwill/ capital reserve, unrealised profit elimination, inter-company elimination and consolidation adjustments.
· Review FX translation and reconcile Ind AS vs. local GAAP/ IFRS differences, including lease treatment variances
· Coordinate with finance teams of all group entities
· Support management with group-level analysis, trends, and presentation
c. Compliance & Controls
· Ensure adherence to all accounting and statutory compliance requirements under Companies Act, Ind AS, Income Tax, GST, and other applicable regulations.
· Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and maintenance of required documentation.
· Strengthen internal controls, governance processes, and financial discipline across group entities.
· Maintain audit-ready books, working papers, and supporting documentation for all entities
· Implement audit recommendations and improve systems and processes.
Key Skills & Competencies
a. Decent understanding of Ind AS, consolidation, financial reporting, and statutory compliance. Ability to handle multiple companies in different geographies
b. Expertise in entity-level book closure and intercompany reconciliations
c. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
d. Proficiency in Tally and Excel
e. Ability to lead and mentor junior finance staff.
Qualifications & Experience
a. Education: CA or MBA (Finance)
b. Experience: 4 + years of experience in financial accounting, consolidation and compliance. Strong experience in CFS, foreign subsidiary consolidation, and Ind AS
c. Hands-on experience with Ind AS 116 lease accounting (ROU assets, lease liabilities, disclosures)
d. Experience working with multi-entity or group structures is preferred.
e. Strong exposure to audits and statutory reporting is desirable.
