Company Description Zery is an early-stage fashion technology company developing AI-powered virtual try-on solutions for clothing retailers.
The company’s goal is to create a smart mirror system that allows customers to see themselves wearing different garments virtually, without having to physically change clothes. Using artificial intelligence, computer vision and digital imaging technology, Zery aims to make the in-store shopping experience faster, more interactive and more convenient.
Zery is currently at the feasibility and market validation stage, with the initial focus on developing a working prototype, testing the technology with customers and retailers, and progressing towards a retail pilot.
The long-term vision is to provide retailers with an innovative technology platform that improves customer engagement, supports purchasing decisions and creates a more modern shopping experience.
Role Description
The Computer Vision Engineer – Co-Founder Opportunity is an early-stage technical leadership role based in Dublin, Ireland. The role will focus on developing the core technology behind Zery’s AI-powered virtual try-on platform for the fashion and retail industry.
The engineer will research, design and implement computer vision and machine learning solutions capable of detecting and tracking people, understanding body position and shape, identifying clothing regions, and realistically displaying virtual garments on customers. The role will involve building proof-of-concept systems, developing and testing prototypes, evaluating existing AI and virtual try-on technologies, and optimizing models for responsive or real-time performance.
Responsibilities will include exploring techniques such as human pose estimation, image segmentation, garment transformation, image generation, object detection and video processing. The engineer will also help develop datasets and testing methods, evaluate model accuracy and visual quality, and determine the most appropriate technical architecture for an in-store virtual try-on experience.
As a co-founder, the individual will work closely with the Founder to shape Zery’s product roadmap and technical strategy. They will also contribute to major company decisions, prototype demonstrations, retailer pilot projects, technical partnerships, funding applications, investor discussions and the future development of the technical team.
Zery is currently at the pre-revenue and pre-funding stage. This opportunity is therefore intended for someone who is interested in building the company from an early stage and taking meaningful ownership of the technology, with co-founder equity participation to be discussed based on commitment and long-term involvement.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or a related technical discipline.
Knowledge of Computer Vision, including areas such as image processing, object detection, segmentation, tracking and human pose estimation.
Experience or strong interest in AI-powered virtual try-on, generative AI, augmented reality, computer graphics or digital fashion technologies.
Proficiency in Python, C++ or similar programming languages commonly used for AI and computer vision development.
Familiarity with computer vision and machine learning frameworks such as OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow or similar technologies.
Understanding of model training, evaluation, data preparation and performance optimization.
Experience with real-time image or video processing would be highly valuable.
Experience with generative models, image-to-image transformation, diffusion models or garment visualization would be an advantage.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate closely on both technical and commercial decisions.
Entrepreneurial mindset, willingness to work in an early-stage environment and interest in taking responsibility for the technical direction of the company.
Based in Dublin or willing to collaborate regularly in Dublin as the company develops.
