US Tax Accounting Manager

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced US Tax Accounting Manager with strong hands-on experience in US tax, accounting, tax software, and team management.
The ideal candidate should have experience working with QuickBooks, ProConnect, and CCH, along with a strong understanding of US tax returns and accounting processes. The candidate will lead a team, review work, manage client deliverables, and ensure accurate, timely completion of engagements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of US Tax and Accounting professionals.
Allocate work, monitor team performance, manage deadlines, and ensure timely delivery.
Review and oversee preparation of US federal and state tax returns.
Prepare and review 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120-S tax returns.
Review tax workpapers, supporting schedules, adjustments, and reconciliations.
Manage accounting activities including general ledger, journal entries, bank reconciliations, AP/AR, and month-end close.
Review accounting records and financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
Work directly with US-based clients and internal stakeholders to resolve queries and obtain required information.
Ensure quality control across tax and accounting engagements.
Identify technical issues and ensure appropriate resolution.
Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to team members.
Conduct regular work reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Manage multiple engagements and ensure all deliverables meet quality and deadline requirements.
Support process improvements, SOP development, and workflow optimization.
Stay updated on changes in US tax laws, regulations, and accounting practices.
Identify opportunities for automation and use of technology/AI in tax and accounting processes.
Mandatory Requirements
5–8 years of relevant experience in US Tax, US Accounting, or US Tax & Accounting.
Mandatory team leadership/people management experience.
Strong hands-on experience with US Tax Preparation and Review.
Experience handling 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120-S returns.
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks / QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Hands-on experience with ProConnect.
Hands-on experience with CCH tax software.
Strong understanding of US federal and state taxation.
Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements.
Experience reviewing and mentoring junior and mid-level team members.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple client engagements and strict deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA / EA / CA or equivalent professional qualification.
Experience working with a US CPA or accounting firm.
Experience in outsourced US tax and accounting services.
Experience handling direct communication with US clients.
Exposure to AI-enabled tax and accounting tools.
Location: Indore, Madhya Pradesh – Onsite
Working Days: Monday to Friday
Shift Timing: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST
