The Role
Reporting to the Project/Contracts Manager, the Electrical Construction Manager will lead the delivery of electrical packages on large-scale data centre projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate electrical installation activities across data centre projects.
Lead site teams, subcontractors, and supervisors to ensure safe and efficient execution of works.
Monitor project progress, productivity, and programme milestones, providing regular progress updates.
Review designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure buildability and compliance with client requirements.
Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, labour requirements, and site resources.
Chair and attend project, subcontractor, and coordination meetings.
Interface with clients, consultants, and other trades to ensure successful project delivery.
Manage quality inspections, documentation, and project closeout activities.
Oversee testing, commissioning, energisation, and handover of electrical systems.
Ensure compliance with Designer Group Health & Safety procedures, conducting site audits, toolbox talks, and safety inductions.
Mentor site personnel and support the development of apprentices and junior team members.
Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience managing electrical installations on large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects.
Strong understanding of LV/MV electrical systems, power distribution, UPS, generators, and associated infrastructure.
Experience coordinating testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, BIM models, and Navisworks outputs.
Strong planning, organisational, and people management skills.
Demonstrated track record of delivering complex projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; BIM and Navisworks experience advantageous.
