About KSHR
KSHR Advisory Services helps growing companies build the people infrastructure needed to scale confidently. We partner with small and mid-sized organizations to strengthen HR foundations, improve people practices, develop manager capability, and solve practical people challenges as their businesses grow. Our work is hands-on, practical, and highly collaborative. For retainer clients, KSHR serves as an extension of the leadership team and HR function, providing both strategic HR guidance and day-to-day people support.
About the Role
KSHR is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner/Client Delivery Lead to own day-to-day HR delivery across assigned client relationships and help strengthen KSHR’s outsourced-HR delivery model as the firm grows.
This is not a traditional corporate HRBP role. You will work across multiple client organizations, partnering directly with founders, executives, and managers on people and organizational priorities. You will advise leaders, lead practical HR improvements, and ensure that client commitments are delivered consistently and effectively.
You will also provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and quality oversight for HR Generalist. The ideal candidate is a senior, hands-on HR professional who can quickly understand a client’s business, identify immediate and longer-term priorities, develop practical solutions, and lead implementation.
What You’ll Do
Lead Client Relationships and HR Delivery
Serve as the primary HR Business Partner for assigned KSHR retainer clients.
Build trusted relationships with client founders, executives, managers, and key stakeholders.
Lead recurring client meetings, HR discussions, work planning, and follow-up.
Translate each client’s business priorities into practical people and HR priorities.
Identify emerging people risks, operational gaps, and improvement opportunities proactively.
Maintain clear documentation, communication, priorities, and follow-through across assigned accounts.
Escalate material strategic, legal, sensitive employee-relations, or scope-related matters to the KSHR Founder when appropriate.
Lead and Develop Client Delivery Team
Provide day-to-day direction, prioritization, coaching, and feedback to client delivery team members.
Coordinate work allocation and client deliverables across accounts based on urgency, complexity, team capacity, and client commitments.
Review work for accuracy, quality, consistency, and sound judgment while maintaining accountability for the overall client-delivery experience.
Establish practical workflows, ownership expectations, and operating practices that support reliable and scalable client delivery.
Strengthen Managers and People Practices
Coach client managers on performance management, employee communication, accountability, role clarity, team effectiveness, and day-to-day people leadership.
Help clients establish practical and consistent approaches to performance management, manager accountability, and employee documentation.
Support organizational design, workforce planning, role clarification, and employee lifecycle improvements.
Identify opportunities to strengthen manager capability and organizational effectiveness as client companies grow.
Improve HR Processes and Infrastructure
Assess client HR practices and recommend ways to simplify, standardize, and improve processes.
Develop and implement practical HR processes, tools, templates, and workflows that improve consistency, accountability, and scalability.
Lead or support improvements to onboarding and offboarding, performance management, policies, compliance processes, HR systems, documentation practices, and other core HR operations.
Turn recommendations into practical implementation plans and carry work through to completion.
Provide HR Advisory and Employee Relations Support
Advise clients on employee relations, performance concerns, policy interpretation, documentation practices, and people-related risk.
Apply sound judgment to complex employee situations and recognize when legal counsel, specialized expertise, or Founder involvement is needed.
Help managers address people issues consistently, appropriately, and proactively while balancing business needs and employee considerations.
Support Hiring Strategy and Process
Partner with client leaders on recruiting intake, role scoping, job-description development, and hiring strategy.
Help improve hiring processes, role clarity, interview practices, and decision-making.
Provide HRBP-level guidance and oversight to recruiting activities as needed.
This role is not intended to serve primarily as a recruiter or sourcing resource.
What We’re Looking For
Seven or more years of progressive HR experience, including meaningful experience as an HR Business Partner, HR Manager, Senior HR Generalist, People Operations leader, or comparable role.
Demonstrated experience independently advising business leaders and managers on employee relations, performance management, organizational needs, and people practices.
Experience supporting small to mid-sized or growing organizations where HR professionals are expected to operate strategically and hands-on.
Experience in HR consulting, outsourced HR, fractional HR, professional services, or a multi-client environment is strongly preferred.
Experience supporting professional-services operations beyond core HR, including project management, client communications, process improvement, business operations, marketing coordination, or content development, is preferred.
Experience supporting organizations in life sciences, biotechnology, healthcare or clinical environments, technology, or IT services is strongly preferred. Experience across multiple industries is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to improve HR processes and implement practical solutions, not simply administer established programs.
Ability to rapidly assess an unfamiliar client environment, distinguish immediate issues from longer-term priorities, and turn observations into practical recommendations and implementation plans.
Ability to build credibility quickly with founders, executives, and managers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, meeting leadership capability, and a confident client-facing presence.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities, commitments, deadlines, and follow-through across multiple clients.
About the Opportunity
This is a remote, part-time role expected to average approximately 20 hours per week. Hours may evolve as KSHR’s client portfolio grows. Occasional client meetings or travel may be required based on business needs. The role may be structured as a part-time employee or independent consultant engagement, depending on business needs and the selected candidate’s experience, availability, and engagement structure. This opportunity is well suited to an experienced, hands-on HR professional who enjoys advising business leaders, solving varied people challenges across multiple organizations, developing junior HR talent, and combining strategic HR partnership with practical implementation. As KSHR grows, this role may expand in hours, client-delivery responsibility, and leadership scope.
