Summary
Job Summary PeopleSoft-to-Workday Data Migration & Validation Consultant
Primary Focus: Lead the migration and validation of financial/budget data from PeopleSoft to Workday, specifically for Higher Education clients (universities, colleges, state systems).
Duration & Location: 12-month contract, 100% remote.
Experience Required: 7+ years, with strong preference for experience in higher education environments.
Technical Expertise:
Extensive hands-on experience in data extraction, transformation, and migration for budget/finance functions.
Skilled in optimizing SQL queries, Application Engine, and SQR scripts.
Deep knowledge of mapping PeopleSoft data fields to Workday equivalents and handling data inconsistencies.
Proficient in implementing ETL tools and validating migrated data accuracy.
Experience with Workday Financial Data Model (FDM) and financial system integrations.
Data Validation & Reconciliation:
Perform record-by-record reconciliation, validate aggregate totals, and identify exceptions.
Refine and document data crosswalks, data conversions, and formula translations.
Identify and resolve data quality issues, unmapped fields, and process deviations.
Prepare detailed validation reports, including exception logs and root cause analyses.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with cross-functional teams (technical, functional, budget, and project stakeholders) to resolve migration issues and certify go-live readiness.
Support UAT, user sign-off, and knowledge transfer activities.
Maintain thorough documentation for all data conversion and validation processes.
Typical Tools/Platforms: MS Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Visio, Project), Tumbleweed, VDI, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Workday.
Preferred Background: Candidates currently working with or who have recently worked with universities or higher education clients (e.g., CUNY, SUNY, UC, NYU, Columbia, Rutgers, Temple).
Other Responsibilities: Potential training and knowledge transfer to client staff; perform duties as assigned.
Note: This is NOT a traditional Active Directory/Identity Management role. The role is centered on PeopleSoft-to-Workday Financial Data Migration and Validation.
