Role Description The Undergraduate Student Remote Library Assistant is a part-time, remote role supporting the clinic’s digital library and information resources. Day-to-day tasks include organizing and maintaining electronic documents, assisting with cataloging and updating library records, and supporting circulation processes such as tracking checkouts and returns in online systems. The role involves responding to information requests from clinic staff and students, helping users locate resources, and providing clear, professional communication through email or other digital platforms. Additional responsibilities may include basic data entry, maintaining resource lists and guides, and collaborating with supervisors to improve access to clinical, educational, and research materials.
Qualifications
Ability to support Library Services and apply foundational Library Science concepts to organizing and managing digital resources.
Experience or interest in Circulation tasks, including tracking materials, maintaining records, and following procedures for resource access.
Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to assist clinic staff and students, respond to inquiries, and provide clear information remotely.
Current enrollment as an undergraduate student, preferably in Communication Sciences, Library/Information Science, Health Sciences, or a related field.
Comfort with web-based tools, databases, and office software; ability to learn new systems with guidance.
Attention to detail, reliability in meeting deadlines, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Interest in speech, language, and hearing services or healthcare environments is beneficial.
